ROBERT CRUMB at 75 2019 fine art print / edition of 25 / $185.00

This portrait of cartoonist Robert Crumb, strumming his mandolin amid his vast 78 rpm record collection in his living room in Suave, France, was produced in 2018 by Drew Friedman to celebrate Crumb's 75th birthday.

Drew writes: "Crumb is one of my favorite subjects to draw, with his comedically expressive face, his unique body language, and his long, soulful artist/musician hands and fingers. He's produced an incredible legacy of vibrant work in over 50 years. To anyone who has been offended by Crumb's art over the decades, his response has always been: I'm not here to be POLITE!

"His 1980's humor/graphics magazine WEIRDO was recently chronicled in Jon B. Cooke's epic The Book of Weirdo (Last Gasp), for which I illustrated the cover and wrote the foreword. Cooke and I had a wonderful get-together in March with Crumb in New York City, where Robert was first presented with the book.

"I continue to be inspired by the brilliance of Crumb (the artist and the man). As I've previously written: Robert Crumb is the spiritual father for, and has had a definitive influence on, an entire generation of cartoonists. He has and continues to be my favorite artist, warts and all."
